How to Increase Your Luck for a BTS Soundcheck & Barricade Concert Ticket

How to Increase Your Luck for a BTS Soundcheck & Barricade Concert Ticket

BTS soundcheck tickets are basically the impossible unicorn of the fandom. Everyone wants it, almost no one gets it, and at this point, it feels more like winning the lottery than securing a concert ticket. If you’ve read Part 1: BTS Military Discharge Tour: Why Getting Tickets Will Be a Bloodbath, then you already know that just getting a regular BTS ticket is already brutal. If you’ve read Part 2: What Is the Full VIP Experience for a BTS Concert?, then you know that soundcheck is the ultimate VIP flex—a pre-show performance where BTS is casual, relaxed, and interacting with fans before the full concert chaos starts.

But actually securing a soundcheck ticket? Yeah, good luck with that.

What Is the Full VIP Ticket Experience for a BTS Concert?

Let’s talk numbers. During PTD at SoFi Stadium, across four shows, 214,000 tickets were sold, and only 6,000 of those were soundcheck tickets. That means just 2.8% of total tickets were soundcheck. Now, let’s factor in that at least 5 million people (including resellers, bots, and every ARMY fighting for their life) attempted to get tickets. Your actual chance of scoring soundcheck? 0.12%.

Zero. Point. Twelve. Percent.

That’s not even half of one percent. That’s worse than some lottery draws. That’s worse than getting into Harvard. That’s worse than the odds of getting struck by lightning. So if you manage to get a BTS soundcheck ticket, congratulations you are officially blessed by the Bangtan gods and should probably go buy an actual lottery ticket next.

But to be serious. There are only two ways to get a soundcheck ticket: pure luck or a ridiculous amount of money.

Luck (And a Lot of It)

If you’re trying to get soundcheck tickets the normal way (aka, without selling your soul on resale sites), you need luck on multiple levels. First, you need luck to even get a pre-sale code—because not every ARMY membership holder will even receive one. If you don’t get a pre-sale code, you’re already out of the game before it even begins.

But let’s say you do get a code. Now you need good luck to be placed in a good position in the Ticketmaster queue. Ticketmaster’s “randomized” queue system is the definition of absolute chaos, where some people who log in seconds before the sale starts are placed near the front, while others who click the moment the sale opens are dumped 50,000+ people deep. It’s basically Ticketmaster’s way of saying, “LMAO, good luck, loser.”

And even if you get a good queue position? You now need luck for availability. By the time you actually make it through the queue, soundcheck tickets might already be gone. BTS tickets sell fast—I’m talking within minutes. Soundcheck sells out even faster.

To increase your luck, some ARMYs create multiple accounts with multiple ARMY memberships and multiple credit cards. Some coordinate within a friend group, ensuring that everyone is in the queue trying for the same show so that at least one person gets through. Some people take the entire day off work or school just to focus on ticketing.

And yet, even with all this preparation, plenty of ARMYs still miss out.

Because at the end of the day? It’s all luck. No matter how many devices you use, how fast your WiFi is, or how well you plan, if the Ticketmaster gods aren’t in your favor, you’re not getting soundcheck.

Money (And a Lot of It)

If luck isn’t on your side? Then your wallet better be.

The harsh reality is that many ARMYs are already budgeting for resale prices because they know soundcheck is nearly impossible to get at face value. If you don’t score a ticket in the first round of sales, your only other option is resale sites and that’s where things get painful.

The Ultimate K-pop Concert Checklist: Your Guide to a Stress-Free Concert Experience

Soundcheck resale prices can range anywhere from $2,000 to $10,000 per ticket, depending on demand and venue. Yes, you read that right. Up to 10K for a single ticket. At that price, you could literally buy a car, pay months of rent, or take a luxury vacation. But for some, the chance to see BTS in soundcheck is worth every penny.

Some ARMYs save for months, even years, just to afford resale. Others are willing to go deep into credit card debt to get their dream ticket. And unfortunately, resellers know this, which is why they inflate prices to absurd levels.

It’s a vicious cycle:

  1. Resellers buy soundcheck tickets in bulk using bots and Ticketmaster loss resell system.
  2. They list them at sky-high prices.
  3. Desperate fans buy them, encouraging resellers to do it again next time.

And so, the resale struggle continues.

If you’re considering buying resale, be careful. Always use verified resale platforms and avoid sketchy Twitter or Instagram sellers. There are way too many scams in the K-pop ticketing world, and the last thing you want is to drop thousands on a fake ticket.

Is Soundcheck Worth It?

So, you either need a miracle or a millionaire’s budget to get a soundcheck ticket. The question is, is it worth it?

The answer depends on you. If soundcheck has been your ultimate dream and you’re willing to either fight through the Ticketmaster trenches or pay resale prices, then go for it. The experience of seeing BTS up close, casual, and relaxed is one-of-a-kind.

But if you don’t get soundcheck? It’s okay.

I know that might be hard to hear when you’ve spent hours, maybe even days planning for ticketing, only to walk away empty-handed. But the reality is that BTS concerts are magical no matter what ticket you have. Whether you’re front row, in the 100s section, or up in the nosebleeds, you’re still in the same stadium, breathing the same air, and experiencing the same music as everyone else. And that’s what truly matters.

So yes, go ahead and increase your chances however you can. Get multiple devices ready, strategize with friends, and cross your fingers. But also remember, BTS on stage is an experience like no other, no matter where you’re sitting.

And hey, if you do get soundcheck? Just know that you’re one of the 0.12% blessed by Bangtan themselves. Enjoy every second of it.
