Blackpink's Jisoo to finally release a debut solo project

Blinks the most exciting news for 2023 is finally here! Our most beloved BLACKPINK member Jisoo aka Kim Jisoo has finally announced her solo debut! It’s been revealed by YG Entertainment (YGE), the vocalist’s Label, that she is currently shooting a music video for her solo at a secret location overseas as confirmed. 

 Blackpink is a four member girl group, who debuted in 2016, with members Jennie, Rose and Lisa, having already released numerous individual records for their fans. As the final member of the group to release a solo project, expectations for Jisoo's debut as a solo artist are sky high. 

This is even more exciting news, because despite her busy schedule with the group’s ongoing world Born Pink world tour, which has been super successful by the way, it is said that behind the scenes Jisoo is fully involved in the production and creative direction of her solo debut. 

YGE shares their support for the solo project, saying that this is the most expensive music video ever produced by the Label. I mean, YG is pretty much known for their sleek and money dripping music videos, so this isn’t a surprise. 

While not much else is known about the album at this time, Jisoo confirmed her intentions to record solo music at a fan event back in January 2022. Later that same year, May 2022, Jisoo for a Rolling Stone interview said she was unsure about her future as a solo artist. “I’m not sure how much I want to go solo yet. The music I listen to, the music I can do, and the music I want to do – what should I choose?” It’s nice to see that her initial hesitancy is gone and like her bandmates, she will be releasing her own music.
